Vacuum Coffee Maker

Vacuum Coffee Maker

Vacuum Coffee Maker

Once you've tasted the results of Bodum's revolutionary vacuum-brewed coffeemaker, you won't settle for anything else! Created by noted Swedish designer Kaas Kleeson over 40 years ago, the Santos model coffee maker is still the standard for vacuum brewed coffee. A fixture in almost every Scandinavian home, the process of making great coffee this way continues to fascinate young and old. Bodom’s revolutionary nylon filter achieved a breakthrough in coffee brewing quality, far overshadowing the existing cotton and glass filters on the market, and leaving no sediment in the cup. "Upside-down" vacuum brewing separates coffee from grounds for clean, exquisite taste The patented “valve sealing” solved a safety issue by preventing too high of a vacuum to be formed. The coffee maker works like this: water for each cup of coffee is placed in the lower coffee pot, and a scoop of coffee for each cup is put in the upper pot. When the water begins to boil, the vacuum process causes it to rise up the tube to mix with the ground coffee. Two or three minutes later, the newly-brewed coffee runs back down to the lower pot ready to serve, while the grounds stay in the upper pot. Even more tantalizing than watching the coffee brew is the delightful coffee aroma that fills the air. And best of all is tasting it! Measures 11 1/2"x 5 1/2'
